Alpine Hunting Team

Since our humble beginning, Alpine Hunting has grown immensly. First of all into New Zealand's foremost professional hunting operation but most importantly into a 'family' of long term team members where everyone from our housekeeper to our pilots and guides who take pride in what we do without forgetting to have fun along the way.

Head Guide

Bruce (AKA Burt or Watoosie) has been guiding with Shane since before the beginning of Alpine Hunting Adventures!  He has guided many World Record red stags over the years, and you may recognise him from  some hunting shows.  He has a son and a daughter who have produced 3 gorgeous grandchildren.  Bruces favourite saying is ....'It wasn't me'.

Guide

Colin (AKA Shifty) has been with Alpine Hunting since 2004.  A professional hunter for most of his life, from rabbit shooting to possom trapping and now guiding for trophy deer. He has forgotten more about bushcraft and hunting than all the rest of us could ever know!  Colin has a beautiful Grandaughter in Australia and is famous for his 'footsteps on the table' dance move!

Guide

Chris had been guiding for the opposition and has now seen the light.  He joined us here at Alpine Hunting in 2009.  Chris goes to Alaska each year to guide in the Alaska Range for dall sheep, moose, grizzly bear and caribou. When Chris is not hunting he likes to go sea fishing and has just completed a dive course.  When you have a moment, ask Chris about his passion for donuts....
 Neil Neil Perrie
Pilot

Neil has been flying for Alpine Hunting since 2004. He is an outstanding pilot and has flown many hunters from from the North Island to Franz Josef in the South Island to hunt Chamois and Tahr.  Neil's passion is boating off the West coast of the North Island.  Ask him about crossing the bar.......

Ann Spence
Lodge Manager

Ann has been associated with Alpine Hunting since 1996. She has seen Alpine Hunting grow from humble beginnings and knows pretty much everything there is to know about the outfit.  Ann has 5 chidren and a 'multitude' of grandchildren she tries to see as often as possible.  Originally from England, Ann still has an accent, which makes her an easy target when you need "bu-er" for your bread or need to post a le-er".
