Alpine Hunting Season start

New World Record!
It's been confirmed Jim Stavola's stag is now a No. 1 World record with a muzzleloader measuring at SCI 604.  Congratulations Jim, we are proud to have been a part of your hunt and hope to see you here again soon!   Tell me more...
 

Proud Mary's Tahr!
Late August saw our friends Gary and Mary Robins, from California come to NZ for a visit.  Shane guided Mary for some amazing Chamois and Tahr and as usual, found some some awesome trophies!  Check out Mary's Tahr....  Tell me more...
 

Down to the wire!
Greg Goodreau was one of our last clients of the season and look at this awesome stag he managed to find. Judging by the smile on Greg's face, we think he's pretty proud!  Not bad for a bow hunter, Greg!    Tell me more...
 

Grand Finale

Hunting and Scenery in one!
Dave Baldauf came down to hunt with us with his father David (his 4th time!!!) and was guided by our own Dave, so "Hey Dave" quickly became the quote of the week!  David Junior took this impressive Red stag down by the river.  What a fantastic shot!  Tell me more...
 

Pete Plaza comes back for more....
Pete Plaza returned to Alpine Hunting only to take a pending world record Sambar at our Te Puke ranch.  He and his guide Chris hunted hard for 4 days and eventually found this elusive Sambar.  He shot at it with his fathers Pre 64 Model 70 rifle (300HH) from 300 yards.  What a fabulous animal! Kenny Jarrett's Tahr!

NZ Duckshooting season begins...
Shane and the boys went on their annual duckshooting trip last weekend.  They bought motorised decoys, duck callers, truckloads of ammo, and practised their duck calls.  Us girls bought bags for the ducks, made room in the freezer and planned 8 different duck meals in anticipation of their bag.  All to no avail it turned out, as the hunters returned with only 15... Liam Quinn's Stag!
Shane and his 11 year old son Liam had been trying for a week solid to get an 8 point Sika stag on the flats beside the river.  Here is Liam's account of how he eventually got the head..... The Wall's had a ball!
Allan Wall from Louisiana proved that age was no barrier to securing a top class animals last week.  Allan came with his wife Eva, daughter Scarlett and Grandson Barry.  They had a wonderful time hunting, and by the time the week came to an end, it felt like saying goodbye to family.       Tell me more...
