5 Species

21st April 2008, Chuck Gatecliff and his two sons Brent and Kevin came and each hunted our 5 species North Island Package.Red Stag, Sika, Fallow, Goat and Ram. They had a great time with lots of memories to take home and tall tales told.

It was lovely to see the return of Brian and Denise Welker at the end of March with their son Daniel. Brian to shoot the biggest, freakiest stag he could find and Denise a nice Elk. Daniel was looking for a good Red Stag with a bow.

Seipho Hut Opening

Last Saturday, March 29th 2008 saw the opening of Seipho Hut by Ian Laurens (Seipho).Seipho means Gift of the Gods in African. Seipho Hut stands at the top of our hunting area overlooking Dead Horse Valley with veiws of Mt. Ruapehu, the active volcano in the central North Island of New Zealand. Hunters and their guides can stay up there for the night or just call in for a hot drink.

The Roar has begun

The Red Stags are roaring and can be heard around the lodge every morning and evening. Yesterday we heard the first Sika roar. Shown is Arthur Gutierrez with his Sika.

2008 Season

The 2008 season has started with a bang.We had the Gutierrez family with us for a week and they bagged some beautiful animals. Shown is Arturo Gutierrez with his SCI 500+ Red Stag.

Big Game Fishing

Alpine Hunting has teamed up with NZ's top Game Fishing charter operation, Outer Limits with captain Geoff Lamond.
